Summer concert

Join us for a concert full of summer music.

The choir recently successfully competed at the Cheltenham Music Festival, taking first place in two of the 4 classes entered and only being closely pipped at the post in the other 2 classes. We are delighted therefore to revisit this exciting and diverse repertoire in this concert and our programme will include this Twa Tanbou – a brilliant piece in French Creole by Sydney Guillaume depicting the relationship between 3 drums, O Love by Elaine Hagenberg, a stunningly simple and moving re-imagining of the hymn O Love that will not let me go, Håll mig kvar, a Nordic song which translates as ‘hold me fast’ and the playful Chili Con Carne by Anders Edenroth amongst others.

In addition we will be giving our first ever performance of Eric Whitacre’s Leonardo Dreams of His Flying Machine and will also feature individual pieces for the ladies only and then the men only.

Once again we will also be welcoming two talented young musicians from Sheffield Music Academy as our soloists.

Complementary refreshments (wine, soft drinks and shortbread) will be served to you in your seats in the interval.

We do not intend to adopt any specific Covid-19 measures but would ask that you respect other people’s views should they wish to do so.

Tickets are priced at £15, 12 (concession) and £6 (students with a student card). Children under 16 are admitted free. To avoid handling of cash as much as possible on the night we would encourage you where possible to reserve your tickets and make payment in advance either:
