Join us for a summer’s evening of music
The choir recently successfully competed at the Cheltenham Music Festival, taking first place in two of the four classes entered and only being closely pipped at the post in the other two classes.
We are delighted therefore to revisit this exciting and diverse repertoire in this concert and our programme will include Twa Tanbou – a brilliant piece in French Creole by Sydney Guillaume depicting the relationship between three drums, O Love by Elaine Hagenberg, a stunningly simple and moving re-imagining of the hymn O Love that wilt not let me go, Håll mig kvar, a Nordic song which translates as ‘hold me fast’ and the playful Chili Con Carne by Anders Edenroth amongst others.
In addition we will be giving our first ever performance of Eric Whitacre’s Leonardo Dreams of His Flying Machine and will also feature individual pieces for the upper voices only and then the lower voices only.
